Does anyone know how to put an inlay grove around a 10X7X 3/4" board?
The inlay is 3/16" deep by 1" wide..
Any help at all would make my day...
Thanks,
John

John,
Is the inlay all the way out at the edge and 1" wide?
I would use three rectangles spaced properly and the 3/8 straight bit set 3/16 deep.

John,
I drew one with the inlay 1/4" from the edge. This is what Chris was talking about, except I just used one line instead of three rectangles.

Actually, to get it accurate I used the 1/8 cutting bit as well.
Drew a 8 x 5 rectangle and offset the 1/8 bit -.125 to establish the 1" edge. Then used 3 rectangles with the 3/8 to clean out the rest.
Hope that helps.

Doc, I can see that I have a lot to learn yet.. I have tried to use one line like you did, but I didn't get the same design. It would be a great joy to talk to you about how the process was done, but I know your time and mine is limited. Thank you for your help, and I'll keep doing the trial and error for now.
