Michael,

A really great looking project so far
Is that bending birch, or did veneer the
front corner radiuses.
Please keep us up to date with more Photos

Thanks Ken, the radius corners are made from two layers of bending ply and veneered over with birdseye maple veneer, why do the pictures here look washed out they looked good before I sent them.?

.jpg's -- to much compression I guess

A lot of the photos don't do the projects justice,
I'm sure most look much, much better in person.

Now that's really nice!!! Are you going to back the sides with something or will they remain open?

Great Job!! http://forum.carvewright.com/images/icons/icon14.gif

Hi Guys and thank you very much for your positive feedback Ken, in answer to9 your question yes it looks better when you are standing next to it. Chris, the side and front panels will have a polished brass backer plate otherwise the blankets would poke through the holes (wife wouldnt like ythat) Ike, unfortunetly very little design was done on the carve wright machine, And Doc, yes I have been doing this for 45 years I better know what I am doing by now:mrgreen: Now I just Have to catch up to you guys on this design thing , but its going to be a long hard road this computer and I dont exactly get along:confused:

Wow - that is a showstopper for sure! Great craftsmanship and design - I love the radius front corners and the pierced carvings. Can't wait to see it with the final finish and polished brass behind the carves. Very upscale!

Michael,

Yea I though you'd back the openings with something...LOL

I was just curious as to what you had in mind. The brass will be a killer look!!

I did a coffee and end table set many years ago for a customer with the same concept. I wish I had pictures of it but it was a dark walnut wood and I used a light colored marble pattern Formica slid into grooves as the backers. The cut outs were on the top and under glass.

Of course that was long before the CW so the cut outs and carvings were done by hand.

Very Nice Michael!! http://forum.carvewright.com/images/icons/icon14.gif Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

So Michael, if you were to sell just like this one, what would you take?

It's very creative and such a skill to think this design up and make it as we see it. WOW!

Just to cool for more words. Thanks for the pics!

Michael,

Absolutely gorgeous! That kind of project (in my humble opinion) should always be "ONE-OF-A-KIND". If it were to come out of my shop, the price tag would be at least $2500 but probably more.
Keep up the great work. You've created an incredible heirloom that has a higher value than the price tag, no matter what that might be.

Thanks for sharing!

Michael,
Thank you very much with sharing your mastered skills
Viewing your project reminds me why I keep striving to learn more
And you have helped in that process.
Down write beautiful though words cannot explain how impressed I am
