The forum is a very good place to search for answers.
When using "Search" for short words or specific things, put it in double-quotes. (like "error 238" or " 238 error")

Using 'Search' as Doc says will no doubt give you some good places to look. An axis error such as this usually means that the machine could not move along that axis properly. The Y-axis goes from the front (keypad) side of the machine to the rear. Turn the machine off and move the cutting head F->R->F and feel for any obstructions.

In all the calls I get about Y Axis 238 I have to say about a solid 75% of them wind up being the Z motor bumping into things when traveling left and right. Good way to tell is to take the cover off and then see if you still have anything restricting travel each way. Its easy to forget that the Z motor is hanging off the back of that assembly.
