This is for one of the fellow Marines I worked with, He recently got orders to Japan. He has a thing for Pirates so I decided to make something that would not only be decorative but practical. The wood is yellow pine, it took me about an hour alone to distress it, I used a combination of high speed burs and a chain wrapped around my fist. I then used Dark walnut minwax gel stain along with some hints of red mohagany. In the process of making the Pirate logo my machine decided to be stubborn and wouldnt work......so I tried my hand at Dremel carving. I finished it off with few coats of laquer. I was pretty pleased with the results.
