Need help to retrieve library

Somehow my Library Catagory went into Favorites as a "Sub-Catagory". It happened when I was loading library into favoites so the pic would show in the edit window. Cannot get it back as its own catagory and it will not let me put any ptns in the favorites.
I'm at a point to reinstall the software and start over.
Would kindly appreciate any suggestions or help.
Still piling up scraps.
