I just attempted my first scan with the probe. Did not have a good result.
Maybe I have chosen to small an object.
I used a bass button, 7/8" across, dome shaped, less than 1/4" high at the center. It has a raised letter "P" in the middle surrounded by a wreath on both sides. The letter and wreath are pronounce on the button, to the eye. Its hard to say how high they are but I would guess a little under 1/32"

The detail ("P" and wreath) comes out faint and the button edges are jagged.

Am I shooting too high or can I do something to enhance the detail

My personal experience with the probe was that small piece did not scan all that well. A lot of the detail was lost. Like scanning fridgie magnets. I did a lot of them and pieces larger than them worked much better...so I would say the button is just to small to pull enough detail.

Yes, that's too small. Perhaps you could take a macro closeup photo of the button and post it in the Gallery section. There are a few folks who may have some spare time to create a pattern for you from a great-quality photo.
