Craftsman CompuCarve System for Sale

We are offering a Craftsman CompuCarve System for sale. This unit was owned by my father-in-law and saw very little use before his passing. This unit is located in Santa Clarita, CA.

Condition and Usage

The machine is in excellent condition, having been used only a handful of times. Originally, we considered integrating it into our sign business, but after purchasing a larger CNC machine, we never needed to set up the CompuCarve System.

Included Parts and Accessories

All necessary parts to set up the unit are included.
Three engraving bits are provided, all of which appear unused and in brand-new condition.
The router bit set is included; only two bits have been used, while the remaining bits still have their protective rubber covers.

There is a pretty detailed guide to jigs in the RAVEN Manual, and Designer 5 comes with a Universal Jig project in the project tab.

Sorry, missed your reply. Did you move the 1 1/2 thick wood to the other machine along with the card? Have had the same response as you regarding being asked the thickness but can't remember if I entered the correct thickness in the project or not. Also can't remember what bit I was using. Don't have a definite answer, trying to think of things that may affect how the machine responds

Older gentleman got this on a trade several years ago and its just been sitting in his workshop in the box. Only 6 hours and 36 minutes on cut motor. Version shows 1.132.06784. The glue on the sandpaper belt has let go. Its the old style with the bit chucks with the crossmembers and old chuck. Does not come with reader nor memory card but DOES have original box and 2 scanner probes for some reason. I thought someone could use it for a parts machine or repair the belt. If you are interested, please let me know and I will put you in contact w Stanley.

I have a second machine. I put the memory card in the other machine and it works fine. The piece of wood in this machine is about 1 1/2 inches thick. The set up used to ask if the plate was in place, then ask the thickness of the wood and then start the carve.

Not sure what the prob is, possible to try another carve just to see if it gets past this point or stops the same way. Should prove if it is the project or the machine. Is it possible that the bit has slid upward and is not reaching the plate?

Lost files

I have Designer 3,4 and 5 on my system. I recently realized that anything that was created in Designer 3 cannot be seen in 4 or 5. When I try to open them, the files do not appear in the menu. I currently need o put an old Designer 3 file into Designer 5. Any ideas on how to do that?

Sliding plate set

During set up, after the bit touches the side plate it looks for the surface. I get a message that says ensure sliding plate is set (1) retry (2) abort. The sliding plate is in the proper position. I've tried multiple times. I've formatted the memory card and uploaded the file with a different name. I still get the same message. This same file was used for a different carving about a week ago. The current version has had minor changes made to it. ???????????????

Hey All

I was able to synthesize my Grizzly Bear image into a png ready importable carve file. At least this bear wandered away from my property in Rocky Mountains. I get lots of black bears, but this was the first grizzly in 30 years!
