I don't have Centerline. I thought about it but I decided that it wasn't necessary right now and I could use the hundred bucks elsewhere until I gained some experience.
The only choice I have for text is raster or outline. I chose outline the first time and all that showed up on the carving was the outside outline and not the outline of individual letters as was displayed on the mpc
I've attached the mpc
Thanks for such a fast response,
Steve
It does look better in CenterLine text.

Steve,
From what I see your original text was Outline, as you said. It appears that you, or the system, assigned the 90 degree bit at a depth of .063.
I changed the bit to the 60 degree and it defaulted to a depth of .250. I changed that to a more reasonable depth of .125. I also increase the text spacing to a ten (10). All this was done without moving away from Outline.
The reason that Raster seemed to work better was that you probably worked/played with it more than you did the Outline. When you have this type situation again, look first to the depth of that carve. In both Raster and Outline, you may set your depth. Just be aware of which bit you select and the width of the "taper" of that bit. If you place either of these in a carved/recessed area your settings will need to be altered as well.

Thanks for the help on the "hole" problem. I did find 2 finite smudges on the drawing! And, yes, I will be using a sled. Now for lettering. How do I make simple raised lettering without the sunken or inverted effect. Bud you do do it in your tutorials all the time, but don't explain how.
As you can see my letters are raised but at the same time sunken beneath the surface of the plane of the board. I know shaving the entire surface of the board is required; just tell me how.
I'm away from home, so I can not make a video.
Start by making a carved recessed area around the text you wish to raise.
If you wish the entire board to appear as raised, make the carved recess as large, or larger than the needed end product. Then you may "cut out" the board with the CW or by hand.

Like Bud just mentioned, Adding a carve region to make you text stand out, Something like this.
Plus it might be a good idea to add a little Draft to your Text -- to help keep it from chipping out.
