    Default Text Carving

I am having trouble with the text not carving all the way. As you can see in the pic the letters are not finishing, now the carving is fine but the text on top and the bottom the letters are not right. Any help would be great seeing that this has happen to me before, and I can't seem to figure out what the problem is.

Did you let the entire carve complete? Carving centerline text can be maddening to watch... it seems to jump around randomly, but if you let it finish everything should get carved.

The mpc certainly looks good. It must be the font. Try a test board with that font and another more common font. There have been some font problems with the newer text editor in 2.0.

You may want to try "bolding" the name portion. I see from the mpc that the date was selected to be bolded, but not the name. I have had issues with certain fonts not carving well so I usually choose to "bold" them when I use centerline....

Well from the pic I took. The date on the mpc it was the same way. It wasn't carved all the way also.

It looks like a bit height issue to me. It appears that the very narrow lines of the letters did not carve, as if the bit were too high. I've had similar results with a cupped board or one that was not of uniform thickness. If I notice this in advance, I will jog to touch and touch the bit down on the lowest portion of the board. Using the 60 degree bit can also help, as it will carve deeper than the 90 degree.

If it's not the board or touch issue, I would check the z-axis. If it fails even a little bit, so that the bit is slightly higher than the machine "thinks", it can lead to results like yours.

It looks like your missing some of your lettering just along the left edge , like maybe the board is not planed flat?
