Great Frame! The right painting will come to mind someday and will look great in that frame.

First project...wow... Great job! I know my firsts were not that good. Hell, I'm not sure any after that are now.

Looks good! I wonder is it one piece or 4?

    Thanks everyone!

I miter cut all the sides and glued them together. I found that when you have joining boards, that it will play on the light reflection. For instance the light will reflect more off of a verticle board and less on the horizontal board that is joined to it. Therefore the wood will look lighter on the sides than the top and bottom. And then if you switch by rotating the frame 90 degrees the dark and light boards will change. The reflection of light off the grain is what probably does this. It's very slight but I think I will try to avoid this by making the frame darker next time.

By the way I will not sell the pattern for this. I plan on this frame being my bread and butter. I would hate to try to compete with some guy selling my design one day on ebay or something like that. Design techniques are one thing, but good design is another.

    Amazing design.
Justin, get yourself a couple of double mops - around 180 grit and 220 grit. LHR sells them and also RJR Studios (the inventor of the Sand Flee).
