    Thanks for all the kind words of encouragement. I used cherry wood which seems to work pretty well. Total carve time for both sides was less than three hours. Size is 9 inch by 10 inch.
    Only tense moment came when it was ready to cut out the outline and I got a message saying the piece was too thick (weird because it was 0.75 inch). Fortunately, one of the options was "Continue" which I chose. It then proceeded to cut out the piece with no problems. I was a little concerned also about leaving tabs since it was cut on the other side, but it worked fine.
    I've attached the pattern and the Designer file for those who are interested.
