    Default Whats wrong with this

My first entry in the blog and it is probably a dumb one!!!

I made a name plaque, had a small picture on it plus a name and then riouted the edge. All this done on a piece of 1x4.

When I went to upload it, I was informed that it needed to be jiged. I said auto. Took project to machine and loaded it. machine wants to scale it. I said yes and ended up with a 3.1 wide plaque.

Also, how to you set the way stuff is loaded, seems it wants to engrave first. I kedep being asked for different bits until I get asked for the engraver??
See, told you they were dumb

Nope, not dumb question, just typical newbie questions (we have all been there.)

First of all welcome to the forum, there are lots of great people here who are always willing to help out. Second, I might suggest spending a few minutes looking at:

    http://www.carvewright.com/cms/tutorials
    http://www.carvewright.com/cms/tips-and-tricks

Start with the Tips&Tricks as Michael has done a great job of covering all the normal 'newbie' mistakes and misunderstandings. I think you will also find that the forum's 'Search' function is a great tool. You will find it on the right side of the banner at the top of each page. I use it all the time when I get stumped trying to figure out how to do something.

Let us know if that helps...
    Happy carving , Jeff Birt
