    Default Numechron digital clock

Some of you may recall the digital clock that I built for the 2014 contest. I finally got around to building one for myself. I built a case for the original one, which was inspired by the Pennwood Model 1364 art deco digital clock, but I decided to keep this one exposed. It's interesting to see it operate.

The clock is driven by a synchronous motor used in time clocks and is very accurate. Frederick Greenawalt came up with and patented the mechanism for this type of clock in 1933. I referenced the original patent to design the almost 70 parts of this clock.

Got to give you a five star on this one. Has all the things I love, looks great , very innovative one of a kind item , and beautiful craftsmanship.
Thx for sharing it, can't imagine all the time you have in it but well worth it.

Very nice, I really like the exposed version. Do you sell the patterns for that?

Thanks. I do plan to get this into the Pattern Depot but it will take me a while. I have a few design tweaks to make, and I need to take lots of assembly photos for the build instructions. It is a Designer 1 project.
