    Default Software Upgrade, and add-ons

    Good Day,

I am getting ready to upgrade my designer software. I also want to buy either Pattern Sculptor or 3D Pattern Modeling Suite. What I am looking to do is to take images and convert them to smooth, clean, rounded carvings, that I can get 3d dimensional look/feel out out of the carving. Can you all give me some pro and cons on these two software add-ons? IE easy of use, learning curve, best bang for my buck.

    Thanks Mike

It would all depend on what type of images you are going to import in to make your patterns.

I have both and for me I use Modeling suite more often since I can convert to STL and it does a good job for cleaning up and smoothing.
Both are fairly easy to learn...........practice is needed of course.

    Hi Mike,

You will likely need both...the Modeling Suite to create your patterns...the Sculptor for smoothing, adding details, removing details, and general tweaking of your patterns.

If you want to trace photo images for creating modeling vectors, you will also need the 2d Drawing Suite.
