Thread: Granddaughters rocker

  1. #1

    Default Granddaughters rocker

This is my first posting of carvings that I've done.

The first two photos are of a rocker I made for my granddaughter's first birthday. I found the pattern for the bear on the pattern sharing forum. The plans for the rocker are from Family Tradition Ponys. I made the rocker out of cherry with a satin Arm R Seal finish by General Finishes. I used Createx acrylics to paint the carving.

The third photo is a plaque I made for my wife for her birthday. I found the double hearts on the pattern sharing forum. I used Photoshop Elements 10 to edit the photos for the carving. The plaque was carved from cherry and finished with a Van Dyke Brown glaze.

Impressive indeed! I really like the rocker. Did you use the Carvewright to cut out the parts?

EDIT: I edited the above after reading your post a little more thoroughly.

Very nice . but there are two little one's . I think ya need one more. It's nice to have on a warm summer night sitting out side. One on each side of you.

That is a very unique rocking chair pattern and it looks great with the Bear carving you've chosen. The plaque with the grandchildren came out exceptionally well. Congratulations on jobs well done.
