I have a fonts CDROM it contains thousands of fonts, what file type am I looking for? And are there converters, like import in Adobe and export to the designer? I have used Intergraph software to layout signs and imported fonts, some end up with strange extra lines inside like a filled font gone bad.

For PCs you want the .ttf files. For OS older than XP, copy them to the folder C:\Windows\Fonts\ and reboot. In XP, open the Fonts folder and choose File>Install New Font...
