    Default Dust Cap Fan

Some of you guys might find this interesting. Today I made and mounted a fan rotor under my spindle so the CW could blow out the dust on its own. I made the rotor on the CW and press fit it onto an ER11M adapter nut. The idea is not really feasible but it was fun to try. One problem is that the fan comes up out of the dust cap at the ends of travel and blows dust around in the machine! It might work better for milling operations where the bit stays down. Watch the video of carving 3/8" deep pocket in MDF.

That is my original dust cap. The CT will not fit in it. That was why I made the dust shoe for people with the CT. What I use are ER chucks which do fit in the dust cap.
