I am sure it is here but... the ability to adjust feed rate for everything from Centerline Text to Carving and Cut Path based on wood density.....
Feed Rate: 1 through 10..... 5 being Pine, 10 being balsa, 1 being iron wood.

LHR keeps improving their Designer Software with new features and I appreciate that. I can figure out how most things are suppose to work by the trial and error method.
My peeve is that they don't add information about the features in the Help Index.
Some of the latest features added include Make Pattern, Edit Cutout, Flip Feather, Place Tabs, Pierced. Query Select and there are a few more.
Maybe some one can tell me how to or when to use Make Pattern, Edit Cutout and Query Select as I haven't figured them out yet.
BTW: The Help button on the Place Tabs window does nothing.
I've had my machine over two years and I'm still waiting for them to fix Copy Offset or remove it from the Help Index.

Hello hotpop,
Both the Make Pattern and the Edit Cut Out (the Cut Out Control Window) features were covered about a year ago in the Tips & Tricks - ISSUE 12 September 2008
"Designer 1.131 New Feature Highlights"
Take a read - you'll find they are both very easy to use.
EDIT: Do you have the latest Designer Software manual?
Chapter 9, pg. 94-96 covers the Edit Cut Out (the Cut Out Control Window) features
Chapter 12, pg. 113-115 covers the Make Pattern feature
Also, I just did a quick forum search for you on the Query Select...see this link:

Thanks Michael,
I downloaded the Designer Manual 1.02 back in July and had forgotten about it. I checked out the sections you referred to and got my answers. Since you mentioned it. I remember reading about these features, probably the Tips and Tricks some time ago.
I haven't needed to use these features in the past year or so and it's like everything else, if you don't use it you loose it.
Thanks for your support.

I would like to load a background image in designer. That would allow me to draw vector lines above it like tracing the image. The image will not be part of the MPC. This would be really helpful when developing scroll saw type of projects.
This capability is available in embroidery design software which can use vectors as well. It is a VERY nice feature.
What ya say LHR?

Bud,
Thanks for the reply and the work around. I had looked at doing that same thing.
Looking at other vector software, they allowed the loading of a background image and toggling that image on and off. The image could be color or black and white. The design software then allowed drawing vector lines 'Above' the background. You could then toggle the background off to check the progress of your vector drawing. Nice and easy and no work arounds required. The advantage of this is you can use vector lines to kind of shade areas, etc. to enhance the drawing with the background being there as a reference.
Like I said, I have used my wifes machine embroidery software and that's how it works.
Thanks again!
