    Default Adobe Photoshop Elements-8 Lessons

I just picked up Adobe PE8 and had a tough time getting into the process.
As a result, I'm making lessons on each thing I feel/think might help others get over the hump (after I figure out my method of application).

My first item of business (main Purpose) is/was to be able to import cleaner images into CW-Designer/Editor.

I will add each lesson/link to my "Download" page.
My first lesson is on the "Magic Extractor" linked here.

As need and time arises, I will add other items.

Thanks AskBud! I will check out your tutorial. I have avoided using it because of the learning curve and time.

Thanks Bud, I know I certainly appreciate your tuts-- just FYI for everyone, photoshop is one of the programs (along with google sketchup) that has TONS of video tutiorials for free on the net... just do a search-- though I'm looking forward to Bud's as they will certainly be done with the "carvewright user" in mind

Yes, I know. I included links to them on my "Download" page below. Now, if I/we could just figure out which lesson we need to look at by the titles, I would be nice.
If I've missed another good source, let me know.

I use the magic extractor a lot and love it, it works great to remove backgrounds, even complex backgrounds can be taken out quickly. I often drag the cursor around rather than changing the tool size so often

    Thanks Bud

great info but my copy of Adobe Photoshop doesn't have the Magic extractor what a bummer, maybe it is time to find another program. It has almost all the other tool i see on your screen but not that. My version is Adobe Photoshop CS3 extended.
But i still think it is a great lesson and will be waiting for more. I do like the magic wand.
    Thanks

HI, you have that same function in PS CS3 it is called Magic Eraser

Also I would not save your corrected image as a JPEG, it would add the background you just removed, back into the image, and Jpeg’s also adds extra fill and lots of that can be noise to the image. Save it as a PNG file.

    Thanks BJB

I use that all the time just never knew what it was called or just didn't pay attention to its name. Thanks for the help. I enjoy PS but still learning I can't wait to start learning zbrush, it sounds like it will help with 3d.

    Thanks

    Default Adobe-PE8-Editing for CW

I just finished this 35 minute, 147 MB, Adobe lesson about Editing pictures for CarveWright usage.
It has more detail than I covered in my first lesson as I go in to why I selected the colors as I progress through the edits.
Adobe is not the only way to accomplish the task, it's just what I bought to see how I might do mine for a while.
