    Default Error in software ??

I am cutting a 1/4" dia. x 1/8" deep ball nose groove in a rectangle on some drawer fronts. The groove is being cut on the centerline for 3 of the sides, but on one side it always cuts 1/8" in further.

It seems to be cutting to the edge of the cutter on this one side, instead of cutting on the centerline.

It is always on the short length side that is towards the back of the machine.

It is exactly correct on the screen, but it not being cut that way.

    Any ideas???

I should add that these drawer fronts were given to me by a cabinetmaker friend and were already cut to final size...

...so, I cannot trim the boards to make the groove equal distant from the edge all the way around.

Try useing a sled, if you routing near the edge of the board, it's probably not staying under the rollers.

There are 7 different lengths...and he has put a 1/8" radius on all the edges.
    And there are 2 widths.

Will a sled work if the ends of the drawer front board have a radius??

I selected "Do Not Stay Under the Rollers" because I knew the board would not.

I wanted the groove centerline 7/8" from the edge all around.

Look at this PDF and design your sled to use holding blocks as in "A, A-1, and A-2".

Just mount each board in the center of the sled, and design your carve to fit the board you are mounting. The edge will not matter as the sled is longer and wider than your boards.

I was able to get the grooved rectangle where I wanted it by adjusting the edge distance. This was a trial and error deal. And I had to vary the edge distance according to how long the project board is.

I still think there is an error in the software.

The machine should be able to cut the groove exactly like it is shown on the screen.
