Thread: flex shaft

    Default Flexshaft

I recently got my third CW. The flexshaft on the first two never got hot, but the new one gets hot. I took it out and found no evidence that it had ever been lubed. I lubed it, but it still gets hot. Any ideas?

    Default Flexshaft

    Jim,

If you used the thin lube, try the heavier stuff like Cam lube or other grease with moly.

It has been quite awhile since I have had this explained so well - please watch this video.

I havnt been able to find the lube with Molly in it but I have a high 'temperature disc/drum brake wheel bearing grease' by LubriMatic......I will give this a try see how it holds up.

    Default Moly grease

    Jim,

Harbor Freight has some called Moly-Graf or something like that that I have been very happy with.
