bog, Can't say I have heard of this issue. I'm sure someone will have some advice. Make sure you determine the cause of this situation, because I'm certain it goes a lot futher than the flex-cable. Good Luck!

I never did lube the flex shaft when I got the machine but its worked fine for months until the qc broke then I replaced it with the Rock. Went to carve and the shaft wasnt turning the bit. I had used the machine the day before and it worked fine but today took a crap. Im gonna call the company abot the flex shaft as well as the thin spring that surrounds it and get a replacement for both. Not sure if it comes separate or all as one piece.

What i just realized was when I went to cut out some patterns the first day I accidently used the carving bit instead the cutting bit....that could have caused the problem with the flex shaft right?

That would certainly have added a great deal more stress to the machine and flex shaft alright.

However, when you get the new flex shaft, be sure to lube it with the Chain Lube with Moly as per CarveWright's recommendation. I've only had to lube my two machine's flex shaft's once and that was over two years ago. No sign (yet) of needing to be re-lubed. One treatment lasts a long time, apparently!
