Well... went into the shop today to try a board measure test as suggested by chief... but I wanted to make sure I double double checked everything again just to make sure or reconfirm the problem...
@fwharris - The machine has only 144 hrs and change, running time on it. This bit thing happens with any of the bit I put in whether its the pressed on bits from CW or split collets... The bit...
Well I have puzzled over this for many hours myself... and I am absolutely no closer to finding out than when it first started... The truck moves freely over to the bit plate, it does not rub or...
I originally thought this to be the case so I had just placed the hood in and watched it while it went thru the finding bit. The plate and truck with the bit have the clearances needed and nothing...
Going to try and post some pics here... Took them with my cell phone so quality isn't the greatest... Also these are right after the machine got thru half a carve before deciding to z axis my...
Hi Al... thx for your input... unfortunately I'm not in a position for ordering a lot of parts... My physical condition due to accident has left me un-employable and this machine was supposed to...
:)... Its an oddity to be sure... The hood I built is wood, there is enough clearances for the spindle to not touch the hood when its in. The hood just sits in place on the top of the front...
I'm pretty sure the problem is in the cable and has nothing to do with the dust hood. The hood thing has always been this way, as in if its in the machine then the machine won't go thru the sensor...
Its the same wood I've been using all along... 1x6, 1x8's and 1x12's... so in reality they are 3/4 planed lumber... thickness isn't an issue.... Plus these are patterns/ projects that I have cut...
Hi bergerud
The problem regarding the dust collector and menu system is an odd one... I built the dust collector hood and it sits on the truck side like others do... There is enough clearance...
Thx Al
The truck moves freely by hand, to the extreme ranges both horizontal and vertical, the travel doesn't stick or pause anywhere and seems smooth. Belts feel tight and there doesn't seem to...
Yes I have read thru the threads, tried a few suggestions and seems the problem is getting worse.
The machine is a "C", replaced sensor board last year, and it has 144 hrs of up time...
...
:-D Certainly pulled a few responses from that posting...
Glad to see there are many happy customers but it still doesn't change my impressions much... I have seen Lynn's name appear posting...
I understand about the flexibility of using other software then importing/exporting etc for image manipulation... This is only part of the frustration I've experienced with the CW system from day...
I have seen tons of great features that could make the Designer very friendly and very powerful... But the suggestions I see here are mostly that... Does CW software coders even bother to look...
This is a pet peeve of mine as well... Currently I'm using Paintshop Pro and shading to get contours... Not the greatest... Would be nice if CW would incorporate layering or other 3D methods into...
Just want to give apologies on griping about this machine I did after experiencing problems after first getting the CW machine...
Its a fickle machine and there is a learning curve. The...
Sheepishly.... Its snipe... yep!!! The motor speed change happened about the time the board came out from under one roller so like a dummy I assumed it was something with the speed change and...
Ok... nuthr sort-of-problem....
I did a search and most of the posts were older, 07-08 etc and nothing newer it seemed... So I'm assuming its, hopefully, not a mechanical error... Put in a...
Maybe third time lucky.... hopefully it will post this time...
I got the system, Craftex, from BusyBee Tools here in Canukdom...
The toughest part was the piping as that took a bit of...
Actually cutting the sensors out won't do anything but disable your machine. The software has to find the edge of the board somehow so it knows where to begin, whether the project will fit on the...
Well I did order the Craftex DC system from BusyBee Tools for two hundred delivered....
So once I get it here and set up I'll post a comment on it for those Canuks that may be looking to get a DC...
Many Thx for the replies...
I checked out the links given, rockler, Harbor Tools, but no prices where evident on the HFT model and the Rockler was $220...
I think I may just order the 1.5 hp...
While I'm waiting on parts to arrive I figured I'd go to work putting in a dust collection system... The old system is a broom and dust pan... With the CW machine being ultra finicky about dust...
Just a thought... Instead of replacing that small phillips head bolt for tightening the Y belt with another one, why not replace it with an allen head bolt?? I find any bolt with slot, pillips etc...
