Can anyone shed some light on my questions?
Thanks! This is very timely information as I will be doing the same thing next week.
A couple further questions:
1. You say to change the install directory to "C:\ProgramData\CarveWright3\". Why...
I don't think that 3/4 MDF is going to matter except it will limit your max. usable board width by 1/2". I just used my carrier today on a board that I could not get flat/square enough to work with...
I've had a few X-stalls which were all caused by pushing the slide plate too tight to the board. If a person did this routinely I could see it breaking an X gear. I don't think that the slide plate...
That takes me back! I started with a Radioshack TRS80 and then went to an Amiga too. There was 12 of us in an Amiga users group
When I was even younger I wanted an IMSAI (I think?) it had a...
Nice POM Michael! Well done on the video also. It's in my queue to do!
Those are very nice! Also, what do the flutes look like and how did you use the CW to make them, if you don't mind sharing...
Even though I see it right there in your picture - I cannot find them on their web site...
Just draw your shape using the spline tool then right-click on the spline and select "decorate with text". All of the normal text options can be applied. The spline shape can be changed and the...
Who is doing the scanning - I would like to take a look.
Here are a few I have made for various projects.

I'm maybe getting in on this a little late but if the Tim-shafts are still available I would like to get 3 - please.
Feeling a little dense  How do you use that?
Get a $5 thumb drive, plug it into your USB port and just copy it like any other drive (only it's portable). That's about as low-tech as I can get.
That is interesting - I've also had issues with 1 or 2 cribbage board holes lining up with the rest. I always thought it was just issues with the X or Y drives/encoders. Maybe it was just a quark...
Since your symptoms changed a little (bit hovering over board and you had to abort) I'm wondering if you have a DC power supply issue.
I don't believe that the upload quality setting has any effect when using centerline. I only thing I can think of is a dull bit.
Thank you for all of the great construction detail!
Those look great! How much are you going to ask for them?
I think that you are pretty close at $10/hr break even. It appear to me that many charge $20/hr for carve time + finishing + material. It also appears to me that you get 20-30 hours of carve time...
Thanks guys! I understand now
My 1st photo shows a couple of vectors carved with a 90V set to .2" deep. Pretty normal looking. My 2nd photo is the same but the 2 vectors are in a Vector Group. The outside carve line is still...
Playing around with vectors today. Wondering - What does the "Vector Group" function do and why would I use it? I see that it can only be used with closed vectors. What does the CW SW do with it?
Lori - If you have not already done so - take a look a the Steve Nelson CW videos at https://www.youtube.com/user/SteveNelson46/videos?
He does a good job of explaining little hints and tricks.
Got it! I assume it's the Dremel 199 bit? Do you use the Dremel router table (231) to do the slot cut or something else. Thanks!
