Any help would be greatly appreciated as to what is causing these lines in the carving and carving the recessed area at different depths as well (see pics). in addition to the lines and spacing it appears the bit is carving at different depths as the recessed area almost has a wave to it as it carves across the board. Carving one half of a sign that will be pieced together later. This was made in project designer 1.187 and I am using a brand new 1/16th" carving bit.
I would check the y and z bearings.
Dirt build up in the compression roller bearings, low head pressure, dirty Z bearings and rails, out feed trays set to high, bad board bottom edge.
The machine is completely clean and just got it back from Carvewright from repairs (all Z and Y roller bearings have been replaced). Everything is lubed/oiled and running smoothly on this machine and the board has a knife edge on it from the jointer. Not tooting my own horn, just for reference I am not a total newbie at this, I have over 2500 hours of carving time across multiple machines. Although I realize that's nothing for some of you guys, just saying that so you don't think I just got this thing a few weeks ago. We send the machines in to Carvewright for calibration and repairs when needed instead of me doing them because that's what my employer wants. Any other ideas on possible causes; I checked all the suggestions posted.

Check under the machine that the 4 screws in the 4 smooth corner posts are tight.
Check if the Z Belt is tight... Move the head to the top pin. Open sensor data for the Z. it will read 0000 at the point it is turned on as it is just a counter. Move head up and down many times and return to the pin. Should be 0000. If not, loose Z Belt of dirty encoder.
Check that the rollers on both trucks are snug. Grab the end of a long installed bit and tug in and out. Should be zero movement. My experience is this loose or worn roller is the cause of this. Just replaced the Z rollers on my C machine because of this.
