Here is a screenshot of a half oval im attempting to cut out. Only problem is i dont know how the machine will react being that I applied a cut path to the board and the cut patch runs off the board. I tried to use the arc tool but can get the exzact shape i want. I tried to use the spline tool but it wont allow me to add a cut path. So basically my question is will this cut path work with no ill effects. Thanks, Matt.

Matt,
The spline tool will work for you if you move the end-points off the board a little.
It really works well!
Your current cut-out will use up a lot of wood!

Hey Matt,
I would "think" the CW will want to scale this down when it reads the board's width but I'm not sure because you have it actually laid out that way in Designer.
I never tried this with an oval, square or any "vector" line but I have done raster text that was split on the edge so two boards could be glued together for a large sign and it "carved" it just fine.
I'd say put it in the CW and see what types of messages you get back. I also agree with Ken that you could use the spline tool or a series of arcs and trace over the oval's line. Keep us posted as I'd like to know the results.

If I were doing a 2 piece oval, this is how I would cut it.

Thanks for the information and the help it is always greatly appreciated.
Ken, I too think your method will be my only safe alternative. I will try my method to see if it will try to do what i want unless i get errors.
Al, Thanks for the file. That too is a great idea, i tried using two arcs. But for some reason it will not give me the same shape as using the half oval.
Chris, I will let you know how it works. If it does i will post the finished project and the screenshot of how it was made.
Thanks again everyone.
Matt.
