Sharon Berrum - SharonB on the CW Forum

Art, in its many forms, has always been a large part of Sharon's life. She's worked with ceramics, dabbled with oil/acrylic paint and watercolors, and then spent 10 years as a soft sculptured doll artist. As a doll artist, she exhibited and sold her creations in various venues.

It wasn't until 2008, when Sharon acquired a CarveWright/CompuCarve machine for her husband, that her passion for carving and painting wood projects started consuming her life. She had bought the machine for her husband before realizing all projects must be designed on a computer...and he had no knowledge of computers.

    Doug Haffner -
    Haffner's Fantastic Creations

    Doug Haffn
er started his interest in woodworking through high school classes. He picked it back up later in college when he was introduced to scroll saw work. Although he enjoyed dabbling in hand carving and chip carving, he found that he didn't have the time to dedicate to that art form. He was first introduced to CarveWright by a
    n Illinois neighbor.

Since then, Doug has become a very active member of the CarveWright Forum offering tips, answering questions and sharing with others his love for finding new ways to expand what he can do creatively with tools like the CarveWright.

    Brandon MacDougall - LiquidGuitars.com

Brandon began woodworking at an early age in woodshop classes and eventually opened his own custom cabinetry business. Hoping to clean up the company's books, his mother persuaded him to purchase an "Amiga" computer. They soon found that the Amiga had few accounting capabilities, but what it did have was a great 3D graphics software package that he soon mastered.

These 3D design skills landed him in every man's dream job. He became a 3d modeler for several Hollywood studios and, ultimately, landed a contract with Paramount. He went "where no man has gone before" converting Star Trek into 3D. His work on Star Trek won him a Prime Time Emmy Award and Emmy Nomination in 2001.

    Michael Tyler - CarveBuddy.com

Michael enjoys the use of both traditional and contemporary Creative Arts mediums. A background in music led him to a career as a Music Technology consultant when computers were just beginning to be utilized for music composition, recording and publishing. In 1987, he founded one of the first mail-order music software and hardware companies in the country. All the while, his side interests included designing and building stained glass windows and lamps, deep relief sandblasting (in glass) and woodworking, just to mention a few.

In January 2007, Michael added a new tool to his workshop - a CarveWright/CompuCarve CNC machine. He quickly developed a fascination for the creative potential this technology

With the CarveWright You Really Can
    Think Big!

Don't let the small tabletop design of the CarveWright fool you. It is capable of producing some very large projects when you use the Tiling Technique.

This particular project was carved in three sections and joined together to create a sign that is over 8' tall for the Llandover Community near Seattle Washington.
