I had a post last night in the techniques section with two problems, one was answered with great detail and I can't thank everyone enough. But the other problem I believe needed to be posted in this section.

What I am experiencing is that the machine is cutting a bit deeper on the left side of the project than on the right. The first i noticed it was when the project started the first few passes don't even touch on the right side of the board until the head starts cutting deeper. When the project was done I laid a straight edge across and can see the difference. The board was only 4" and it can be seen what will I see if the board is full width? Any suggestions on how to fix this problem.

my first thought would be to see if the board is warped or there might be chips underneath the left side of the board, causing it to be higher than the right side. Also, your head may be unlevel. To fix this issue, please contact our hardware support team and they will gladly assist you.

What I did today is I put a 12" wide piece of MDF (so I know that it is flat) put a carve region rectangle with a depth of 0.050" and ran it to within a half inch of each end. On the left it seemed to cut fine but it tapered out to the right, at 9" the cut was not touching the board. I have a call int tech support (they were busy today and were supposed to call me back but haven't heard from them yet.)

Any suggestions??????

sounds like the head and table are not level with each other. Ch height on each side . measure from deck to bottom of spindel on each side.

theads on crank may need adj.

Update
Tech support got back to me on this problem, they have a sheet on how to realign the head. Once i do the deed and everything checks out I will post the instructions incase anyone else has the same issue.

Doing a lighthouse. I have done this a few times before. Today the bit goes through the 3/4" stock in spots, then after about 20 min into the carve the bit want even touch the stock. Kind-of, looks like the cut is being made in reverse or inside out.
Anyone think of anything that would cause this. The design is there but for where it goes through or does not cut.

I think you need to post the design before anyone can give you a firm answer on what to check.
It could be the pattern, the machine, or the wood.

Also tell us where the cut is deep and where it is high (on the wood you have the problem with).

Sounds like the screws holding the belt on the back of the Z are loose? Or a bad Z Encoder.

I'm having the same thing. I've experienced this problem with carving deeper on one side than the other, and it's happened on every piece I've put in. Foam, wood, whatever, so it ain't a warped board. It's really minor (a sixteenth of an inch or so), but it shouldn't be happening at all. Lemmie know what Tech Support said!
